EDGY Talent: Rolling Hill, Asian Psychedelic Jam Band
by Hiroki Yanagisawa on July 5, 2010 8:15 PM
Literal definition of fusion music.
Asian psychedelic jam band from Japan.
What kind of music do you expect? Just like Omutaco, a Japanese food with an essence of Tex-Mex, French, and Japanese, it's the mix of the asian expressions that people can think of.
Rolling Hill with Belly Dance Elissa expresses, or plays with a guitar, drum (a usual combination consisting a band), Jew's harp, Khöömei (sample (from 00:15)), and belly dance.
Formed in 2007, Rolling Hill is consisting from 3 talents -- Oka, (lead guitar and Jew's harp. also known as Kajutarta Hill Okaer), Shunsuke Okazaki (Jew's harp and Khöömei), and Akinori Ota (drums). When they're on the stage, Rolling Hill adds a flavor of mobile beauty -- a belly dancer, Elissa also appears on the stage, dancing.
"I just wanted to create sounds/songs that people have never heard of, and here's my answer." Oka said on his creations.

Their songs will be available through iTunes Store in this summer, but the best way to experience the world of Rolling Hill is a live concert. (For the schedule, check their MySpace.)
"We don't really care how people categorize our music. All we want to do is to deliver miraculous and uplifting music." Oka said confidently.
