Tower from that Movie = Representation of 1970 Expo.

Back to the 70s with a Massive Presence.

Those of you who have watched a Japanese movie series, 20th Century Boys you may have noticed a tower, Tomodachi no Tou (Tower of Friends), which symbolizes the movie itself.

Even if you haven't -- when it's in your sight it's something that makes you say, "What hell/fuck?!"

In fact, this tower --an original design model from the 20th Century Boys creation-- has been sitting at this particular location for 40 years.

Taiyo no Tou, or Tower of the Sun, is a work of Taro Okamoto, a Japanese artist. It was build as a symbolistic art piece (it was also a part of one of the pavilions.) to represent the Japan Expo in 1970.

65m tall (Statue of Liberty in New York City = 47m), 20m diameter at the base -- this art piece is one of a few remaining from the EXPO, and its existence is so massive, creating a strong presence to the surrounding.
