Tokyo from the Edgy Perspective, Walking Rainbow Bridge

One of the most Underrated Tokyo-to-dos.
In New York City, "Walking Brooklyn Bridge" is considered as one of the popular tourist attractions. That's because a view of Manhattan from a distant location (above Hudson River) provides a whole new perspective to the dense island. (Plus, a walking path is located at an elevated area of the bridge, meaning cars are running below the walkway. Interesting set up.)
So is Tokyo. Let's walk Rainbow Bridge to witness Tokyo from an edgy perspective.
For some reasons, not many Tokyo residents know that you can actually walk Rainbow Bridge. (Probably the main reason is that it hasn't been promoted properly. Strange.) But this secret pathway is a great way to get to know not-so-known-side-of-Tokyo.
Rainbow Bridge, which connects Shibaura-Tamachi Area to Odaiba, is 798m long.
It's a 2 story structure and the upper deck is occupied by Shuto Expressway and the lower deck -- Yurikamome Line on the center, road and walkway on the edge.
When walking, you have 2 options. North Route and South Route. If you want to witness more buildings (mainly residential and office buildings) take the north. If you're a big fun of containers and port terminals (Tokyo is 24th busiest port in the world. Not that busy but still a big terminal from human eyes.), the south. (All the images on this article is taken from South Route.)
Here's the view.
One drawback -- since the walkway is parallel to the car-road, the quality of air isn't the best. But considering the view -- definitely worthwhile.

If you're walking from Shibaura-Tamachi side, maybe you want to combine your experience with edgy Outdoor Pint at Odaiba Seaside Park.
Operating Hour
0900-2100 (April to October), 1000-1800 (November to March)
Access
From Shibaura-Tamachi Side: Walk 15 minutes from JR Tamachi Station, or 5 minutes walk from Shibaurafuto Station. MAP
From Odaiba
Walk along Odaiba Kaihin Koen Park to the entrance. MAP
